A local collaborative project, the Food Recovery GIS Map, has been featured in an article by Esri! This highly collaborative project is a partnership between Palomar College, San Diego Food System Alliance, and the North County Food Policy Council. Over the last few years, students have mapped food waste data for 10 cities in our region along with other food system metrics. This data helps support food waste diversion programs as well as the important work of local food pantries and other charitable feeding organizations. Read the full article here.
